What is HYPER-V Backup?

Virtualised servers running on Microsoft Hyper-V offer exceptional flexibility, resilience and optimisation potential. And with SAFE Backup PLUS you have a data protection framework to match.

SAFE Backup PLUS allows you to replicate images of your virtualised servers to the cloud, ensuring you always have an up-to-date copy of your data stored offsite. In the event of an emergency you can spin up your VM from the backed up file to significantly reduce downtime. And live migration tools allow you to shift your servers between local and cloud data centres without affecting availability.

SAFE Backup PLUS for Hyper-V

SAFE Backup PLUS ensures fast and easy protection for your entire Hyper-V virtualisation environment. Our VM Run Direct feature enables instant VM boot-up from its backup file within a couple of minutes. With per Guest VM and per CPU socket licensing options available, you can utilise this flexible and affordable Hyper-V data backup and recovery solution to deploy as your DRaaS (Disaster Recovery as a Service).

Run VM directly from its backup file

If a backed up VM has failed or been deleted accidentally, our VM Run Direct feature allows you to keep the downtime to minutes, as you can run the VM directly from its local backed up file or directly from our UK Private Cloud without the need to restore the backed up image into the original Hyper-V host first.

Live VM migration

With the VM Run Direct feature, you can choose to migrate the running backup VM to its original host machine or alternatively, to a Hyper-V server with our Business Backup Client installed.

Point in time VM restore

Our VM Run Direct or full VM restore allow you to run or restore a VMs from any point in time that it has been backed up. The VM booted up or restored machine will appear on the VMware ESXi host you selected for restore.

Hyper-V cluster supported

If you have a Hyper-V cluster with multiple Hyper-V hosts, SDS Hyper-V Business Backup Client will properly back up all Guest VMs within your cluster, so that you don’t need to purchase the pricey Datacentre license of Microsoft System Centre for Hyper-V cluster backup purpose.

Multi-threading

The multi-threading implementation in SDS Hyper-V Business Backup Client will utilise the computing power of multiple CPU cores for creating multiple backup and restore threads to give you super-fast VM backup and restore performance.
